Have you ever been on a cell phone where there’s a poor connection and you’re only getting fragments of what the other person is saying?  Then it’s like a puzzle with you trying to string together and make sense of the few words that you could understand while at the same time trying to listen to the bits and pieces that are  forthcoming?  This is what my world is like on a daily basis because I am hard of hearing.

Sometimes I have a dumb and misguided overconfidence in my strength, skill and fitness level. This was one of those times. In late November 2017 I tore my ACL while fat biking in the snow followed by surgery a few days before Christmas. Fast forward to 5 months later- where I lined up the start line for the Rattlesnake Rally Gravel Grinder.

Equinox Snow Challenge 2012

There are five things that make for a great girlfriend weekend: great girlfriends, loud music, food, more food, and a little adventure.  Last weekend I headed up to the Equinox Snow Challenge in West Yellowstone, Montana with three of my most intrepid girlfriends (and a pickup-load of gear) for what is surely the best 24-hour ski and fat bike event in the country.
