Mons Royal Wool Women’s Enduro VT Jersey
WOOL IS A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND.
Or should be! Enter this little ditty: the Mons Royal Enduro VT Jersey ($100). This is a fab all-season jersey that is feathery soft, lightweight, and has mesh side panels that make it perfect for hot weather riding.
The jersey has a flattering fit and is true to size. I am 5’5″ and 134 lbs and the M is just slightly on the roomy side.

Great Divide Trail to Sublette Pass
The jersey was stellar on its first hot ‘n sweaty ride: a new section of the Great Divide Trail in Wyoming that climbs up to Sublette Pass. We descended in the near-dark and the temp dropped. Did I get icky clammy cold? Nope, because that’s the beauty of wool ~ it keeps you warm even when damp.
This was also a great winter base layer for fat biking with my wool arm warmers. It may sound odd but I like having the option of a short-sleeved jersey for winter riding so that I can roll down my arm warmers on those glorious sunny Wyoming days.
There are only a few things that might be an issue for some:
1) the material is slightly see-through, at least in the gray/black version. I discovered that when I wear a pink sports bra, the bra is visible just a tad. I’m kind of over that sort of thing though.
2) the side pocket isn’t very practical. It’s awkward to access and smaller than I prefer. I would rather have the traditional bike jersey pockets.
3) For the color way that I chose, the back of the jersey is black which is hot in the summer on my bikepacking rides. I’ll be ordering a new color scheme for Spring 2022.

Note that this is a short-sleeved jersey. I am wearing wool arm warmers.

I would trade the one zippered rear pocket for traditional back jersey pockets.
Here’s the full description:
Merino Air-Con – A lightweight fabric for year-round use, Merino Air-Con is constructed from superfine merino fibers that are spun around a nylon core. This provides the next to skin comfort, breathability and odour control of merino with the durability of nylon. A touch of elastane provides ease of movement and shape retention.
Last but not least, Mons Royale has a genuine sustainability ethos that I can get behind.
